Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Preparing Meat: Clean and trim meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands.
  • Meat Handling and Packaging: Wrap and package prepared meats, and weigh meats for sale to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Meat Preparation and Display: Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products, and shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood to meet customer expectations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations on meat products.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience in a butcher shop or retail environment is an asset.
  • Work Setting: This role requires working in a fast-paced retail environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, hand-eye coordination, and working under pressure are essential requirements for this role.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude are essential for success in this role.
