We are looking for a proficient and committed individual to take on the role of Regional Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager. This position involves overseeing and executing Brock Canada Industrial Ltd's Health and Safety initiatives, policies, and protocols across various site locations. Your main goal will be to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, clients, and visitors while adhering to relevant health and safety regulations and standards. This pivotal role demands strong leadership, analytical capabilities, and exceptional communication skills. Candidates must be local to the designated region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and execution of a comprehensive corporate HSE management framework. Gather and evaluate statistical data, produce leading and lagging indicator trends, and ensure accurate data collection.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and operational processes to identify and evaluate potential hazards or risks.
- Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to foster a culture of safety, ensuring all employees receive adequate training and education on health and safety practices.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies and client stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay updated on changes in health and safety regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Support the annual COR auditing process and client audits as necessary.
- Coordinate active WCB claims and oversee the modified work program.
- Provide guidance and support to regional teams in conducting risk assessments, developing project safety plans, and implementing suitable control measures.
- Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and proposing strategies for risk mitigation.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety topics, ensuring employees understand their responsibilities and the importance of maintaining a safe working environment.
- Completion of high school and a diploma training program from a college or technical institution.
- Certification in Health and Safety, NCSO, CRSP, or a related safety designation is advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety or a related field, including at least 3+ years in a health & safety managerial role.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience with SharePoint, and strong Internet research skills.
- CSTS, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid certifications.
- Demonstrated experience as a health and safety professional, focusing on managing safety programs and initiatives in a multi-site or regional context.
- Strong knowledge of OH&S and federal health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and influencing abilities, fostering a culture of safety and engaging employees in proactive health and safety practices.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to foresee and address potential health and safety issues before they arise.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region and occasionally to other locations as required.
