About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Farm Labourer to join our team at St. Soldier Farms Inc. as a key member of our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Maintenance: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Crop Management: Clear fields of wood and stones to prepare them for planting and cultivation.
  • Animal Care: Develop and guide the behavior of farm animals, including livestock feeding and monitoring their health and well-being.
  • Quality Control: Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to ensure high-quality produce.
  • Task Management: Organize tasks to accomplish work efficiently and effectively.
  • Pig Care: Perform pig littering activities, including clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medications, identifying piglets, and castration.
  • Crop Development: Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to ensure optimal growth and yield.
  • Exhibition Preparation: Prepare cattle for exhibition to showcase their quality and characteristics.
  • Health and Safety: Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Agricultural Services: Provide agricultural crop services, including plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting.
  • Supervision: Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers.
  • Monitoring: Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed and detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.
  • Facility Management: Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
Requirements
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 30 hours per week of work.
