Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Analyst/Senior Analyst to join the Business Management team within the Credit Investments (CI) department. The CI department oversees all public and private credit investments for CPP Investments globally. The Business Management group within CI leads initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The Analyst/Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in delivering key projects and initiatives related to capital budgeting, portfolio analytics, and the maintenance of internal systems and investment data. This position requires collaboration with CI investment and strategy teams, the Total Fund Management team, and other supporting teams across CPP Investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage CI's Capital Ledger process, essential for supporting the Fund's capital management, in collaboration with CI investment teams and Total Fund Management.
- Assist in analyzing and reporting on deployment and disposition activities, including performance attribution across various groups and strategies within CI.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all data integral to CI's investment processes, including upstream sources and downstream applications.
- Oversee the ongoing collection and review of critical data elements relevant to portfolio management.
- Support portfolio analysis and management reporting, including the quarterly monitoring process.
- Proactively implement process improvements that facilitate investment decision-making and portfolio management.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business management and contribute to departmental and enterprise projects as needed.
- Up to 3 years of experience in finance and/or investment; familiarity with the credit asset class is advantageous.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, VBA, and SQL is a plus.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with critical and creative thinking abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and thrive in a high-performance culture.
