Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team in the Calgary Zone. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess emergency scenes and patients to determine the level of care required
  • Transport ill or injured patients from scenes of emergency and/or between facilities
  • Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy as needed
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles are properly stocked and equipped

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EMS experience
  • Industrial, Firefighting, Emergency or Critical Care Nursing experience
  • Post-secondary education
