ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a Mine Maintenance Lead Hand to be part of our Mobile Maintenance team, reporting directly to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor.
Our operation is recognized as a leading gold producer in Canada, with significant reserves and promising growth potential. The open pit mine is strategically located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Timmins.
The Mine Maintenance Lead Hand will play a crucial role in supporting the Mobile Maintenance team by overseeing daily mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks for all mining and mobile equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Providing expertise and oversight for all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities related to mining and mobile equipment;
- Leading and mentoring team members to achieve safety and productivity objectives;
- Establishing and implementing standards and procedures that comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Assisting in the development of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly reports;
- Coordinating and scheduling electrical and mechanical maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate is preferred;
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a maintenance role;
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or lead hand capacity;
- Strong interpersonal and management skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team;
- Experience with open pit mining equipment, particularly electrical shovels and drills, is a strong asset;
- Experience in remote work environments is advantageous.
