Key Responsibilities- Prepare and Review Tax Returns and Projections
- Review prior years' returns and working papers to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Analyze financial information to identify tax planning opportunities and process enhancements
- Prepare tax returns, income tax projections, and tax provisions by meeting with team members and reviewing files for accuracy and completeness
- Identify Tax Risks and Opportunities
- Identify tax risks and opportunities through analysis of financial information and tax provisions
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate tax risks and capitalize on tax opportunities
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
- Collaborate with portfolio property accountants to review Canadian tax provisions and ensure accurate and timely tax payments
- Assist in providing responses to governmental and external auditors as required
- Stay Up-to-Date with Tax Developments
- Monitor current developments in technical journals, conferences, legislation, and tax administration
- Develop and communicate technical tax expertise to ensure tax compliance efforts maximize tax savings and efficiencies
- Education
- University Degree - Business related major
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in corporate income tax
- Exposure to Real Estate/Property Management an asset
- Skills
- Proficiency in Excel, tax preparation packages, and tax research software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
