We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal to join our team at the Department of Education, Western Australia. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a critical role in leading and supporting whole school improvement, with a focus on high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and engage staff in shared beliefs about teaching and learning through a proven capacity to build and support teaching teams, focus on explicit and measurable outcomes, and build capabilities and capacity through implementation of Teaching for Impact, the Western Australian Curriculum, and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Engage staff in 1:1 coaching and mentoring, build teaching excellence through delivery of high-quality professional learning, classroom observation, and feedback, and enhance the performance and development culture within the school.
- Work within the executive team to lead and support whole school improvement, with an emphasis on high-quality teaching and learning, and build staff capacity and cultivate distributed leadership within a culture of high expectations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to connect and work with parents to support each individual child's learning journey.
- The ability to establish genuine, positive, and caring relationships with our students, families, and community.
- Knowledge and understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, Social and Emotional Learning, and supporting students at educational risk.
- Proven experience in leading and supporting whole school improvement, with a focus on high-quality teaching and learning.
