Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Aviva Canada. As a key member of our Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team, you will be responsible for managing operational execution of due diligence activities for select risk domains, managing and mitigating risks identified during associated tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support operational execution for centralized risk domains, including concentration risk, operational resilience, and subcontractor risk.
  • Conduct due diligence assessments in cooperation with risk partners, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Develop and track remediation plans based on due diligence outcomes, working with business users to ensure completion.
  • Provide data and feedback to risk collaborators on execution of risk area activities and risk assessments.
  • Manage TPRM program monitoring responsibilities, identifying, reporting, and mitigating existing and potential risk exposures.
  • Develop reports for business areas and senior management on third-party risks.
  • Identify and advance key items of concern regarding new and existing third-parties, including concentration risk and fourth-party risk exposures.
  • Support the cross-functional community of practice for third and fourth-party risk.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in business, economics, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant enterprise and/or operational risk management experience, preferably in the property/casualty insurance or related industry.
  • Risk management qualifications or equivalent.
  • Understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks, with deep understanding of third-party risk subject matter.
  • Understanding of core vendor management and procurement activities and principles.
  • Data analytical skills, including proficiencies in Excel and/or additional data reporting tools.
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to draw insights from data analysis and risk outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards related to TPRM guidelines.
  • Ability to form and maintain professional relationships, collaborate, and work effectively with key internal collaborators.
