Job Summary
The Infection Control Associate plays a vital role in preventing the transmission of infectious diseases at Michael Garron Hospital. As a key member of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team, this individual will work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based solutions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to develop and implement IPAC solutions
- Use continuous quality improvement methodology to identify and address areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with healthcare staff, patients, and families
- Provide education and training on IPAC best practices
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IPAC policies and procedures
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Health Sciences or related field, with a certificate of competence issued by the discipline's licensing body of Ontario
- Completion of the CHICA-Canada Infection Control course or other courses related to Infection Prevention and Control
- Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound judgment and initiative for priority setting
