Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates for high rise residential development projects, including costs of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, and recommend tender awards.
  • Establish and maintain tendering processes, set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, and prepare cost and expenditure statements.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and up-to-date reports.
  • Manage and coordinate construction projects, preparing construction progress schedules and economic feasibility studies.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in construction estimation, with 3 years working on high rise residential projects.
  • Holds a valid G/G2 driver's license.
  • Experience with takeoffs and strong background in reviewing and working with markups.
Work Conditions:

The standard workweek for construction estimators is 40 hours (8 hours a day, 5 days a week). As with many careers in construction, there are peak periods that will require overtime to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.

Construction estimators work in offices but spend some time on construction sites reviewing progress and meeting with project stakeholders.
