The Role:

As an IT Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for steering cross-functional project teams through the entire lifecycle of IT initiatives, ensuring the successful attainment of project goals while adhering to established timeframes, scopes, and budgets.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Directing project teams across various disciplines to achieve project milestones.
  • Overseeing the completion of project methodologies and processes, including:
    • Facilitating collaborative project planning sessions.
    • Crafting proposals, charters, project plans, timelines, and managing daily project operations.
    • Administering project budgets effectively.
    • Conducting project closeout activities and generating final reports.
    • Implementing project control measures, such as:
      • Monitoring and reporting on project progress against established plans.
      • Tracking issues, decisions, and change requests from identification to resolution.
      • Assessing the implications of changes on project scope, budget, resources, and timelines.
    • Engaging regularly with stakeholders, including management, project sponsors, and senior leadership, through written and verbal updates and presentations.
    • Collaborating closely with the Corporate Information Governance team to ensure project outcomes align with governance frameworks.
    • Applying quality control mechanisms throughout project execution to maintain consistency and objectivity.
    • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the IT Project Management Methodology by providing insights and support to the Portfolio Management Office.

    Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Formal training in project management or equivalent certification.
    • An active project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP).
    • Training in recognized change management methodologies is advantageous.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience managing large-scale, complex technology projects.
    • Experience in a municipal government context is a plus.
    • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight while demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
    • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to guide project teams toward defined objectives.
    • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills across departments and with external partners.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, showcasing tact and diplomacy.
    • Capability to develop and coordinate plans for multiple concurrent projects.
    • Strong analytical, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
