Role Summary

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The TAS division is engaged in several intricate, organization-wide projects as part of RBC's strategic initiative to enhance technology governance and IT RISK management. We are looking for a proactive professional who is eager to take charge, provide outstanding client service, and become a dependable asset to our team.

In this position, you will be tasked with the strategic planning and effective execution of the aforementioned initiatives. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, developing, leading, communicating, and implementing activities to ensure that goals are met in a timely manner.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Designing and implementing pipelines and monitoring systems for internally-developed, internally-hosted, and/or third-party vendor applications.
  • Employing infrastructure-as-code methodologies to ensure consistent and reproducible environments.
  • Developing and configuring DevOps Pipelines using Jenkins and Git Actions, integrating with RBC Helios pipelines.
  • Staying updated with the latest technologies and mentoring the team on enhancing their codebase.
  • Assisting operational teams with ongoing issues, including investigation, documentation, and incident/problem management.
  • Overseeing CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to optimize software delivery and infrastructure management processes using existing tools and established technology stacks.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED?

Essential Skills:

  • Practical experience with Ansible Tower.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Proficiency with Server Operating Systems such as Linux, Unix, and Windows Server.
  • Experience working with Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy (UCD), and Git Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift, Azure, PCF, and managing Windows/Linux VMs.
  • Knowledge of Container Platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a matrix organization, such as a large, publicly-traded company.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Solution Architect, SysOps Administrator).
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions and businesses.
