About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cabinetmaker's Assistant to join our team at Richmond Cabinets Ltd. As a key member of our cabinet shop, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Safely load and unload construction materials, including lumber, hardware, and other supplies.
  • Material Preparation: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as required for our cabinet-making process.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Finishing Touches: Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Woodworking Expertise: Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products, and sand wooden surfaces to prepare them for finishing.
  • Area of Specialization: Focus on cabinets and related woodworking tasks.
  • Security and Safety: Meet the requirements for bondability and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a fast-paced environment, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Regularly lift and move materials weighing over 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate accuracy, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is an asset, and a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week is available.
