Your Opportunity:
As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), you will serve as a vital patient advocate, engaging effectively with community partners and allied healthcare professionals to guarantee safe and proficient patient care and transportation. Your role will involve the safe operation of emergency vehicles, responding to medical and traumatic emergencies, as well as inter-facility transport requests, all while adhering to professional standards, medical control protocols, and established procedures.
Role Overview:
In the capacity of a Paramedic, you will evaluate emergency situations and patients, potentially transporting ill or injured individuals from emergency scenes or between healthcare facilities. This responsibility includes operating ambulances or alternative transportation methods. You will provide patient care by administering medications, utilizing advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and delivering electrical therapy. Additionally, you may lead the ALS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency sites.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure ambulances and other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles are adequately stocked and equipped.
- Complete the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation as required.
- Collaborate with patients, their families, and healthcare team members, consulting with other professionals as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have completed an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program and hold active registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Additionally, you must possess a current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits. The Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation must be completed within the specified timeframe prior to application.
Additional Required Qualifications:
