Job Summary
Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Locomotive Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our diesel locomotives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel locomotives, including inspections, cleaning, and testing of air brakes and other critical systems.
- Conduct periodic service on locomotives, including oil changes, turbo inspections, and fueling.
- Replace locomotive and diesel engine components, including wheels, trucks, traction motors, and other critical parts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the railway industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
