Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute project management standards and methodologies related to planning;
  • Advise and apply best practices in project scheduling;
  • Offer expertise to project managers in crafting project execution plans;
  • Assist project managers and teams in creating baseline schedules, monitoring progress, analyzing schedule discrepancies, and recognizing trends;
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and engage in project partner discussions;
  • Apply Earned Value techniques and project monitoring components;
  • Participate in project schedule and portfolio optimization efforts and resource requirements analysis;
  • Maintain regular communication with project team members regarding planning needs;
  • Collaborate closely with project control, risk management, and estimation teams to develop business processes and project timelines;
  • Create schedules for consultants, suppliers, and contractors that align with project goals;
  • Prepare and refresh project dashboards and monthly status reports;
  • Assist project teams in analyzing delays and claims;
  • Manage the Primavera P6 database.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Postgraduate studies in a related area preferred;
  • Certifications and training in project planning;
  • Experience in developing project management processes and standards;
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning projects exceeding $100M;
  • Background as a Senior Planner in heavy industry;
  • Experience in a multi-project setting;
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other scheduling tools;
  • PMP, PMI-SP, AACEI-PSP, or similar certification is advantageous;
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
