This role requires strong technical knowledge of Bindery work within printing industry, someone who can work in a Print and Mail Production environment with the ability to multitask. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks, including operating Pile Feed Floor Model Folder, Multi Station Floor Model Inserter, and other Bindery equipment. The candidate will also assist in finishing large format jobs, such as cutting rigid materials and posters.
Duties and Responsibilities- Operate Pile Feed Floor Model Folder and Multi Station Floor Model Inserter.
- Perform all Bindery functions incumbent to Print Production environments, including coil punch, drill, scoring/perforating, padding, shrink wrap, etc.
- Assist in finishing large format jobs, i.e. cutting rigid materials, posters, etc.
- Set up machines according to job requirements, making sure to meet accuracy and quality standards.
- Identify equipment malfunction and notify Team lead when required.
- Paper cutting and preparation of materials for production. Return unused paper to storeroom.
- Record accurately all labour time and material used.
- Perform as back up to mail courier drivers when necessary. Full G License required.
- Other tasks may be assigned based on organizational needs.
- Post secondary diploma.
- Minimum 5 years experience as Multi Station inserter operator floor model.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Pile Feed Floor Model Folder Operator.
- Well versed in Operating Inserting and Folding equipment.
- Ability to operate small bindery equipment.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge in Excel, Streetsweeper and Rembrandt software considered an asset.
- Computer proficiency to maintain records.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to perform manual physical labour (walking, sorting, standing for a sustained period).
- Must possess Full G License.
