Key Responsibilities of the Director, Finance:

- Lead the accounting team to ensure precise and timely financial reporting on project performance.
- Establish and uphold robust internal control measures.
- Develop and execute departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for both short- and long-term success.

- Monitor ongoing project cost performance, scrutinize change orders, and maintain strict project budgets to maximize profitability.
- Provide strategic insights on financing options to ensure project and company success.
- Identify financial risks and offer analyses and recommendations to enhance financial performance, enabling the company to achieve its financial targets.
- Foster positive relationships with auditors, financial institutions, investors, and other external stakeholders.
- Negotiate financing arrangements, manage cash flow, and address operational cash needs to support business growth.
- Direct accounting processes to meet operational requirements, ensuring timely preparation and filing of financial statements.
- Formulate and implement policies and procedures to strengthen corporate governance and sound business practices.
- Participate in designing incentive programs for key management personnel.
- Support the CEO in executing the strategic plan and assist functional teams in operational plan implementation.
- Demonstrated passion for the real estate industry and the North American market.
- Strong advocate for a performance-oriented and results-driven culture.
- Focus on value creation through strategic thinking and effective planning.
- Proficient in English and Mandarin, capable of engaging with stakeholders and presenting proposals (Mandarin is a plus, not a requirement).
- Committed to building a long-term, dedicated professional team through incentive programs.
- Adept at managing interdepartmental conflicts to achieve optimal project cost performance.
- Skilled in uniting teams to reach desired outcomes.
- Open to innovative ideas and fostering a culture of teamwork and open dialogue.
- Collaborate with functional leaders and team members at all levels, bringing empathy and constructive perspectives to discussions.
- CFA designation is an asset.
- Experience in capital raising for real estate ventures.
- Valuable experience in managing investor relationships.
- A minimum of 5-8 years in the real estate or development sector.
- Proven strategic partner to the CEO and Board, with a deep understanding of real estate risks and market cycles.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred.
- High standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Accountability and respect for deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate risks and market dynamics.
- Experience in managing project costs in accordance with industry best practices.
- Proficient in structuring deals and equity arrangements.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Proficient in relevant software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Availability for overtime as necessary to meet business demands.
Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.
Annual performance-based bonus.
