We are seeking a skilled Glass Cutter to join our team at Flynn Canada Ltd. as a Glazing Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for determining the type of glass, frames, and materials required for various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Determine Type of Glass and Materials: Assess the requirements for each project and select the appropriate type of glass, frames, and materials.
- Measure and Cut Glass: Measure and cut glass to the required specifications using computerized cutters or manual techniques.
- Assemble and Install Glass: Position and secure panes in frames, and assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
- Work at Heights: Perform tasks at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, and work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes, and other lifting equipment.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Physical Demands: The role is physically demanding, requiring handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Weight Handling: The ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) is required.
