  • Position Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for manufacturing a diverse range of components utilizing CNC programmable lathes and milling machines.

  • Safety Responsibilities

Adhere to the following safety protocols:

  • Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement all tag-out and lock-out procedures.
  • Identify and rectify any safety hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or hazards immediately.
  • Cease work in situations posing imminent danger.
  • Work in a manner that ensures personal and team safety.

Quality Assurance

  • Notify the Machine Shop Supervisor regarding any product quality concerns.
  • Complete quality control checklists to ensure manufactured products meet established standards.
  • Ensure all parts are free from visible defects.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and protractors to verify product quality.

Productivity Expectations

  • Collect necessary parts, tools, and fixtures.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Review job packages and traveler documentation.
  • Set up jigs as required.
  • Employ hand tools and other mobile equipment effectively.
  • Machine components according to work orders and engineering specifications.
  • Program CNC machines by inputting instructions and reference points.
  • Prepare CNC machines by installing tools, attachments, collets, and bushings.
  • Verify machine settings through measurement and dry runs.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Assist in the development of production procedures as necessary.
  • Strive for ongoing enhancement of work processes and methodologies.
