Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planner to join our team at the City of Hamilton. As a key member of our planning department, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement urban planning policies and strategies to promote sustainable development and community growth.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Lead community consultation processes and engage with stakeholders to build support for planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement planning projects and initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management, elected officials, and other stakeholders on planning-related matters.
  • Prepare and present reports, studies, and other planning-related documents to various audiences.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on community development and policy analysis.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build support for planning initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with internal and external partners.
