Job Description:

Hydro One Networks Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Metering Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Metering Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our electrical metering systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and Maintain Meter Data Head End Software: Process and monitor meter and AMI network device error reports, clarify problem areas with supervisory as needed, and perform printing, receipting, filing, updating, and submissions of meter and AMI network device error reports.
  • Daily Verification Routines: Perform daily verification routines on AMI devices and head-end systems, update/edit as required, and maintain data files, error logs, and reports.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in the development/revision of processes, tools, and procedures documents, and contribute to the improvement of our electrical metering systems.
  • Exception Handling: Process AMI device exceptions, follow up with internal and external support groups on the status of exceptions and ticket resolutions, and assist in the resolution of AMI device exceptions using established procedures and operational tools.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Provide work program and project support for AMI Complex Metering (Retail, Wholesale, and Power Quality), work in a lab environment, and maintain inventory levels for equipment/materials required in the lab.
  • Technical Skills: Operate and apply a variety of software applications to produce documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and flowcharts, and perform text and object manipulation using sorting, moving, merging, segmenting, and scanning.
Requirements:
  • Education: Completion of third year of Electrical Engineering program.
  • Experience: Requires experience with databases, data management, analysis, and reporting, as well as knowledge of computerized information systems and business administration.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, and adaptability to new processes and software.
