Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your main responsibility will be to ensure the quality of engineering products throughout the development lifecycle and before they reach the market. You will oversee the operations of Verification and Validation (V&V), focusing on enhancing efficiency and automation, adhering to established standards, fostering staff development, and actively participating in the V&V processes. Initially, the role will involve a balance of 70% technical tasks and 30% operational management, with a future shift towards a more strategic and operational focus. A key long-term objective will be to implement automation and leverage the latest technologies and tools within the team, while the immediate priority will be to streamline the V&V pipeline to meet product delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive test plans for Point of Sale (POS) products.
  • Develop and document processes and standards for V&V, ensuring adherence by the team.
  • Conduct a variety of independent tests, including functional and performance evaluations of the system.
  • Document and present test results effectively.
  • Analyze performance issues and identify root causes for developers.
  • Propose solutions for ongoing enhancements to the testing process.
  • Maintain an independent suite of testing tools and establish test systems for comprehensive system evaluations.
  • Recommend and implement systems and tools to boost the effectiveness of V&V.
  • Manage an independent set of systems and tools for the V&V team.
  • Provide quarterly metrics regarding the V&V team's performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams to ensure product delivery targets are achieved.
  • Offer insights to the Development Team on V&V timelines and schedules.
  • Mentor team members and participate in the hiring and recruitment processes for V&V.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in working with Real-Time systems.
  • Experience in system-level integration and testing.
  • Familiarity with test engineering methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of GNSS, Inertial, and positioning systems is highly advantageous.
  • UAV license is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
