About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Trainee to join our team at Newmont. As a key member of our Tailings Construction department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and contributing to the success of our heavy earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for the Tailings Construction department, including design, constructability, quality control, and survey control.
  • Work on projects related to 3D design, cost management, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Collaborate with local business partners and contribute to the development of construction execution plans.
  • Track and report material quantities, manage construction data, and support construction quality control activities.
  • Support TIA Engineers with technical analysis, preparing work scopes, cost estimates, planning, and other tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Civil, Mining, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering Degree.
  • Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • 1-3 years of mining, heavy earthworks, or civil design experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
