The University of Ottawa invites applications for a dynamic and experienced Theater Arts Instructor to join our esteemed faculty.
About the Role:
As a Theater Arts Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of theater professionals. You will guide students through the fundamentals of theatrical theory, terminology, and practice, with a particular emphasis on technical aspects and the intricate world of theatrical event production.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative lectures on theater theory, history, and contemporary trends.
- Provide hands-on instruction in various technical aspects of theater production, including lighting, sound, set design, and stage management.
- Mentor students in developing their creative skills and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement innovative curriculum.
- Supervise student productions and provide constructive feedback to enhance their artistic growth.
Qualifications:
- A deep understanding of theatrical principles and practices, coupled with practical experience in various technical areas.
- Proven success in post-secondary teaching, demonstrating a passion for inspiring and guiding students.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
