Job Title: Clinical Practice Consultant - Wound, Ostomy

We are seeking an experienced NSWOC (Wound, Ostomy & Continence) nurse to join our team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC. As a Clinical Practice Consultant - Wound, Ostomy, you will play a key role in providing consultation specialist services to reduce length of stay and promote healing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion, guide, and lead the delivery of a comprehensive Wound, Ostomy & Continence program for clients.
  • Provide clinical consultation and expertise, education, and direction based on a specialized body of knowledge to interdisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate with other Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) to promote quality client care.
  • Research and evaluate current wound, ostomy & continence standards and facilitate the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, education programs for staff, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute's Wound, Ostomy & Continence Education Program, three years recent, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid motor vehicle license.
