Position Overview: Child and Adolescent Psychology

Location: Vancouver, BC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage services for designated programs or patient demographics in collaboration with the Head of Psychology.
  • Engage in team coordination efforts as required for clinic operations.
  • Conduct a comprehensive range of psychodiagnostic evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
  • Document assessments, therapeutic plans, and patient outcomes meticulously.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for specified patient groups.
  • Advise on program development and assessment.
  • Advocate for department services to the community and professional entities.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues and hospital staff.
  • Facilitate in-service training and presentations for staff and students.
  • Represent the department in various meetings.
  • Oversee and evaluate the performance of trainees and students.
  • Stay informed of current scientific literature and apply evidence-based practices in clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in outcome evaluations and/or research initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or eligibility for registration.
  • Doctoral-level education in a relevant field.
  • Recent experience in clinical or healthcare environments.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and set objectives.
  • Proficient in computer applications for data management.
  • Commitment to understanding legal obligations and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation and Indigenous-specific issues is advantageous.
