Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Level Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing engaging game levels, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Level Design
- Develop immersive and challenging game levels that align with the game's global vision and objectives.
- Collaborate with level artists, programmers, and animators to create high-quality single-player content.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and mentor junior level designers to ensure the delivery of high-quality levels.
- Collaborate with other leads and producers to implement cross-discipline mechanics and ensure seamless game development.
- Design Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive Level Design and Mission Design Documents.
- Scripting and Prototyping
- Use Unreal Blueprint tools to script triggers, combat, stealth gameplay, objectives, and scripted events.
- Prototype gameplay experiences and debug technical issues using scripting tools.
- Analysis and Feedback
- Analyze the needs of the design team and provide constructive feedback to improve game development.
- Assist the game designer in the development and evolution of game content.
- Project Management
- Commit to deadlines and monthly milestones.
- Help build better, more efficient processes with the team.
Requirements
- Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in level design, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
- Skills
- Strong working knowledge of game design systems.
- Deep knowledge of Unreal's Blueprint creation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to design creative and interesting game levels using 3D tools (UnrealEd, Maya, Max, or similar 3D editor).
- Personal Qualities
- Passion for games and game development.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
