Key Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all health and safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and utilize the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) in production areas.
  2. Ensure adherence to food quality and safety standards as per regulatory requirements.
  3. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, driving measurable enhancements in operational efficiency.
  4. Conduct complex corrective and preventative maintenance, leveraging a deep understanding of mechanical principles.
  5. Assess and baseline current work order planning and scheduling effectiveness, considering material, resource, and time costs.
  6. Become proficient in the CMMS system used at the facility (e.g., SAP-PM) and develop a formal improvement plan to address identified gaps.
  7. Enhance communication and effectiveness in work order completion rates, reduce backlog, and establish prioritized work orders with improved methods.
  8. Optimize all maintenance activities, from breakdowns to condition-based tasks, and lead the development of planning and scheduling protocols.
  9. Contribute to significant reductions in scheduled and unscheduled downtime, aligning with cost-per-case objectives and sharing best practices across the organization.
  10. Complete all necessary documentation daily, including logs, downtime reports, work orders, preventive maintenance records, inventory slips, and Maintenance Work Requests (MWRs).

Qualifications:

  1. Extensive technical expertise in industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Ability to interpret complex diagrams and schematics.
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills coupled with a collaborative team spirit.
  4. Strong grasp of engineering principles and maintenance methodologies.
  5. Proficient in reading and understanding intricate piping diagrams and mechanical blueprints.
  6. Exhibit objective judgment and a fact-based decision-making approach.
  7. Exceptional multitasking abilities.
  8. Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule.
  9. Self-motivated with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

  1. Interprovincial Journeyman License.
  2. Millwright certification or a dual ticket in Electrician/Millwright is advantageous.
  3. Possession of a Power Engineer Certificate.
  4. A minimum of 5 years of experience in production or line machine maintenance.
  5. Experience in maintenance within a food and beverage production setting is preferred.
