Aramark Canada is currently looking for a Grill Cook to become part of the Dalhousie Food Services team at the LSC Food Court. Reporting to the Supervisor, the Grill Cook will be tasked with the preparation, cooking, and serving of menu items and made-to-order dishes for guests at the LSC Food Court.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide high-quality, courteous customer service to all patrons.
  2. Prepare, cook, and serve made-to-order items on the grill.
  3. Utilize grilling equipment, fryers, and ovens effectively.
  4. Prepare cooked fruit and egg-based dishes, including processing ingredients and finishing touches.
  5. Handle cheese, dairy, and plant-based dairy alternative ingredients.
  6. Prepare various pasta and noodle dishes.
  7. Make informed decisions regarding the selection, cooking, and finishing of poultry dishes.
  8. Prepare seafood items.
  9. Prepare snacks and other finger foods.
  10. Prepare batter-based products.
  11. Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment continuously.
  12. Assist with culinary audits and temperature checks of food items across kitchen stations, refrigerators, and freezers.
  13. Ensure compliance with Aramark's Policies and Procedures.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  1. Ability to fulfill all responsibilities under the Food Service Worker Classification.
  2. 1-2 years of culinary experience is required.
  3. Valid WHMIS, Food Safe Advanced Certification, and First Aid Certification are considered assets.
  4. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively both under supervision and independently.
  5. Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 35 lbs.
