About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Claims Specialist to join our Group Operations team at Empire Life. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing disability claims and ensuring that our customers receive the support they need during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and Evaluate Claims: Conduct thorough investigations and evaluations of claims to determine eligibility for payment and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Manage Claim Durations: Utilize best practices to manage claim durations and ensure that our customers receive timely and sustainable support.
  • Communicate with Customers: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and ensure that their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with team members to share knowledge, best practices, and ideas to improve our claims management process.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure that our claims management process is compliant and effective.
Requirements
  • Bilingualism: Fluency in both English and French is required.
  • Education: A university degree in a relevant field such as anatomy, biology, kinesiology, life sciences, or psychology is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in disability claim management is required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, disability management best practices, and relevant provincial employment legislation is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills are also essential.
