Field Service Technician

About the Role

Koch-Glitsch is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our customers, including preventative maintenance, emergency assistance, troubleshooting, automation support, and commissioning for new and existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation supervision and maintenance recommendations to customers
  • Operational and functional knowledge of register burners, duct burners, or utility burners
  • Ability to communicate with PLC's, PLC logic, and HMI's
  • Travel to customer job sites approximately 75% of the time

Requirements

  • Experience working with register burners, duct burners, or utility burners
  • Experience working with PLC's and PLC programming for controlling combustion equipment or similar equipment
  • Able to travel to job sites approximately 75% of the time
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Candidate must live within a 50-mile radius of a major airport

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50# on occasion and 25# routinely
  • Able to bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver around skidded equipment and piping
  • Able to hear distinct sounds, visualize all colors of the spectrum, and visually see up close and at distance

What We Offer

  • 2-year Technical Degree from an accredited college or trade school in a mechanically-based technical major, OR 4 years of military service working with boilers
  • Work experience with John Zink, Coen, TODD, Peabody brand of burners, duct burners, or utility burners
  • Experience working on Allen Bradley PLC's, in the combustion or steam generation industries
  • Field work experience in the petrochemical, power generation, pulp & paper, or food processing industries
