Job Summary:
The In-Home Support Worker position at Port City Home Services involves providing essential support to clients in their homes, promoting their independence and well-being. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as meal preparation and personal care.
- Accompanying clients to and from scheduled activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Providing one-on-one support and companionship to clients, engaging in leisure activities and conversations.
- Responding to clients' requests and needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, including tidying their living spaces and changing bed linens.
- Facilitating social interactions and engaging in activities that promote clients' physical and mental well-being.
- Performing other duties as required, including assisting with personal care and hygiene.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age with relevant education and experience.
- Outgoing and engaging personality, with excellent communication skills.
- Food safety training (training will be provided if necessary).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Reliable transportation to clients' locations.
- Current clean criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
- Experience or training in the field (e.g., PSW, feeding, etc.) is an asset.
- Ability to work shift work, including day shifts and occasional weekends.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of $15.75.
- Regular and consistent work schedule, with opportunities for advancement.
