Job SummaryThe Director of Smart Farm Operations is responsible for leading the overall strategy, planning, and execution of the Smart Farm's operations. This includes ensuring the farm's safety and regulatory compliance, overseeing the operations team, and fostering collaboration with academic departments, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Smart Farm's operations and achieve its social purpose of Transforming Agriculture for a Better World.
- Lead the operations team to ensure the farm's safety and regulatory compliance, and oversee the implementation of leading-edge farm production practices and technologies.
- Foster collaboration with academic departments, industry partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the Smart Farm provides an exemplary level of measured customer service.
- Set, monitor, and achieve key performance indicators related to student and faculty integration, applied research projects, and overall productivity and sustainability of crop and livestock production.
- Strategic, visionary, organized, and detail-oriented professional with leadership and management experience.
- 10+ years of experience managing teams, systems, processes, and multiple stakeholders.
- High performance standards with excellent work ethic.
- Skilled in decision making, problem solving, stakeholder management, and prioritization.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Google suite.
- Experience with farm data management systems is considered an asset.
