Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their maximum potential and independence in their daily lives.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing evidence-informed services to meet their unique needs. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring that clients receive the best possible care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients of all ages and stages of life, including those with physical, cognitive, and mental health conditions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of occupational therapy services.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP) certification.
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on client-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in Continuing Care or Palliative Care.
  • Experience with Meditech, Connect Care, and the RAI HC assessment tool.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
