About the Role

The Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB) is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation. Our mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to join our dynamic team as a Senior Securities Analyst in the Securities Division. The Senior Securities Analyst role has two main purposes:

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in conducting in-depth reviews and analyses of prospectus and continuous disclosure documents filed by New Brunswick reporting issuers to ensure full, true and plain disclosure, including policy development and participation on numerous national corporate finance related committees.
  • Act as an accounting resource for the Division and the Commission through the review of financial-related documents and budgeting activities.

This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Finance in the Securities Division.

Requirements
  • Completion of a university degree;
  • CPA designation;
  • 7+ years relevant post-designation work experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards;
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards;
  • Working knowledge of securities legislation is a definite asset;
  • Experience using Tableau is an asset;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset;
  • Highly analytical;
  • Sound judgment while exercising tact and discretion.
