Job Title: Plant Manager

Formica Corporation is a leading manufacturer of high-quality laminate products and decorative surfacing materials. We are seeking a skilled Plant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our St-Jean manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to plant staff and hourly employees to achieve manufacturing objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee all plant activities through effective planning and delegation to ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing programs to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Manage annual operating budgets and develop cost improvement goals.
  • Implement effective systems to control capital, operating, and maintenance expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines on employee health and safety, including CNESST regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvements in all processes and departments.
  • Develop a talent pool to meet current and future needs of the facility through effective recruiting, training, and discipline of employees.
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma processes.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a track record of functioning successfully in a collegial management team.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a personal style that facilitates open dialogue and engagement with external and internal constituencies.
  • A proper balance of strategic perspective and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to communicate, energize, and motivate people in various business functions.
  • Experience managing a union facility with demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Bilingual – French/English.
  • Preferably an undergraduate degree in Engineering.
