About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at A&W Restaurants. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of food service staff and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
    • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff performance and productivity.
  • Customer Service and Quality Control
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards by conducting regular quality checks and addressing any issues promptly.
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
    • Prepare budget and cost estimates to ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Manage inventory and supplies to maintain optimal levels.
  • Recruitment and Hiring
    • Hire food service staff who meet the required qualifications and standards.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high pressure.
    • Stand for extended periods and move frequently to perform tasks.
    Requirements
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service environment.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
