Mobile App Tester Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mobile App Tester to join our team at Mobile Hilfe Ruhr GmbH. As a Mobile App Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our mobile applications before they are released to the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to identify and report issues, verify bug fixes, and maintain a high standard of app performance and user experience.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
  • Define test objectives and success criteria for each testing phase.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of mobile applications to identify defects, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Verify the functionality, UI/UX, and compatibility of apps on different devices and screen sizes.
  • Execute regression testing to ensure that new updates do not introduce new issues.
  • Set up and configure test devices, emulators, and simulators for testing.
  • Ensure test environments are representative of the target user base.
  • Maintain up-to-date test documentation, including test cases and test results.
  • Report on testing progress, test coverage, and defect statistics to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Conduct performance testing to evaluate app responsiveness, load times, and resource utilization.
  • Identify and report performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
  • Participate in security testing efforts to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in mobile app testing, including manual and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
