The Faculty of Science at Ontario Tech University is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are looking for an individual with a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, who has a robust research background and potential in areas such as computer graphics, computational photography, image processing, or computer vision. While all research areas will be considered, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in computer graphics or computational photography.
The successful candidate will become part of a vibrant group of faculty members engaged in high-impact research across diverse fields, including Data Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Human-Computer Interaction, and Systems. This collaborative environment celebrates interdisciplinary research and provides substantial support for maintaining and enhancing an active research profile in computer graphics and computer science.
Workload Expectations: The successful candidate will be expected to fulfill a workload of 40% Research, 40% Teaching, and 20% Service annually.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative, externally funded research programs that lead to peer-reviewed publications, training graduate students at both master's and Ph.D. levels, and fostering collaborations with both academic and industry partners. Additionally, the candidate will teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to curriculum development. Ontario Tech is committed to providing a technology-enhanced learning environment, and we seek candidates interested in creating effective pedagogical applications of technology in Computer Science education.
The Faculty of Science offers a dynamic academic environment with a strong history of impactful research and innovative teaching practices. The Faculty provides honours undergraduate degrees in various scientific disciplines, including Computer Science, which features specializations in Digital Media and Data Science, as well as a co-op option. The Computer Science MSc and Ph.D. programs are cross-faculty and supported by over 30 research faculty members, including three Canada Research Chairs.
