About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Student to join our team as a Construction Project Coordinator. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by coordinating drawings, conducting trade quote reviews, participating in project meetings, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate drawings and ensure accuracy
    • Conduct trade quote reviews to verify material quantities, hours, and rates
    • Participate in project meetings to discuss progress and address concerns
    • Conduct deficiency walks to identify and address issues
    • Input and update deficiency logs to track progress
    • Issue warranties to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Take and coordinate progress photos to document project milestones
    • Update field drawings to reflect changes and updates
    • Produce as-built drawings to document final project results
  • Field Coordination
    • Perform quantity takeoffs to estimate material needs
    • Coordinate sub-trade work to ensure timely completion
    • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings to ensure accuracy
    • Supervise sub-trade work to ensure quality and safety
    • Set up and maintain record keeping to track progress and issues
    • Layout site lines and grades using total station to ensure accuracy
  • Scheduling
    • Update project schedules to reflect changes and updates
    • Create manual schedules to track progress and deadlines
    • Create and update schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software to ensure accuracy
    • Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades to ensure timely completion
    • Create and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD to visualize project progress
    • Monitor workforce productivity to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment
  • Prior field construction experience is considered an asset
  • Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting
