Job Summary

This is a dynamic role that requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide academic and administrative support to undergraduate students in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at McMaster University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advice to undergraduate students, including course selection and program requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule undergraduate courses, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote undergraduate programs and services.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and databases, including student information and program data.

Requirements
  • 3-year Community College diploma in Office Administration or related field.
  • Requires 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, including database management and data analysis.
Assets
  • Knowledge of undergraduate programs and processes at McMaster University, including MAPSci, calendar copy, registration processes, scheduling, and advising students on course selections and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Familiarity with academic policies and procedures is an asset.
  • Experience working in an academic environment or with an academic program is an asset.
