Pacific Coast Community Resources Inc is seeking a skilled Vocational Counsellor to join our team. As a Vocational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain a caseload of participants, providing ongoing support and guidance to help them achieve their employment objectives.
- Develop and implement vocational plans, working closely with participants, their support workers, and other professionals to ensure a tailored approach.
- Conduct job development, direct marketing, and job search activities to identify suitable employment opportunities for participants.
- Provide onsite job coaching, training, and support to ensure participants are equipped to succeed in their chosen roles.
- Assess and evaluate participant progress, making adjustments to vocational plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with community agencies, organizations, and employers to promote employment opportunities and build relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers to ensure successful job development and placement for participants.
- Complete reports and documentation on activities, progress, and outcomes as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a health or social services field, or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities, either paid or volunteer.
- Experience with marketing and networking, as well as business management.
- Strong community relationships and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality support to participants.
- Current First-Aid and CPR Level C Certification, as well as a valid Class 4 Driver's Licence and access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
