Your main goal will be to safeguard the health and safety of personnel, clients, and visitors while ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety regulations and standards. This pivotal role demands exceptional leadership, analytical capabilities, and outstanding communication skills. Candidates must be local to the designated region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the formulation and execution of a comprehensive corporate HSE management framework. Gather and evaluate statistical data, generate leading and lagging indicator trends, and ensure accurate data collection.
  2. Perform regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and operational processes to identify and evaluate potential hazards or risks.
  3. Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to foster a culture of safety, ensuring all personnel receive adequate training and education on health and safety protocols.
  4. Establish and maintain productive relationships with regulatory bodies and client stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay updated on changes in health and safety legislation.
  5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  6. Support the annual COR auditing process and assist with client audits as necessary.
  7. Manage active WCB claims and oversee the modified work program.
  8. Provide guidance and assistance to regional teams in conducting risk assessments, formulating project safety plans, and implementing suitable control measures.
  9. Prepare and deliver reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management, emphasizing areas for enhancement and suggesting strategies for risk reduction.
  10. Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety subjects, ensuring that employees comprehend their responsibilities and the significance of maintaining a secure working environment.
Qualifications/Experience:
  1. Completion of high school and a diploma training program from a college or technical institution.
  2. Certification in Health and Safety, NCSO, CRSP, or a similar safety designation is advantageous.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety or a related field, including at least 3 years in a health & safety managerial role.
  4. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience with SharePoint, and strong Internet research skills.
  5. CSTS, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid certifications.
  6. Demonstrated experience as a health and safety professional, particularly in managing safety programs and initiatives across multiple sites or regions.
  7. Strong understanding of OH&S, as well as federal health and safety regulations and standards.
  8. Excellent analytical abilities, with the capacity to identify potential risks, assess their implications, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with employees at all organizational levels and external stakeholders.
  10. Strong leadership and influencing capabilities, with the ability to cultivate a safety culture and engage employees in proactive health and safety practices.
  11. Proactive mindset, with the ability to foresee and address potential health and safety challenges before they materialize.
  12. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining precise records and documentation.
  13. Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region and occasionally to other locations as required.
As a Regional Health & Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in promoting and sustaining a safe work environment, ensuring the well-being of our employees and stakeholders.
