Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Safely: Operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Load and unload goods from the trailer, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the vehicle, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and brakes.
  • Communication: Communicate with dispatch and other drivers to coordinate routes and schedules.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of hours worked, miles driven, and cargo transported.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience: Have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience as a truck driver.
  • Education: Have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical Demands: Be able to sit for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Environmental Factors: Be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
