Position Overview:

The Project Control Scheduler/Planner plays a crucial role in facilitating project execution, focusing on cost and timeline management, project oversight, and comprehensive reporting. You will be tasked with juggling multiple responsibilities, adhering to strict deadlines, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. This role offers the opportunity for mentorship and skill enhancement, propelling your career towards becoming a proficient project control analyst with the potential for a PMP certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Project Controls Lead/Manager and Project Director.
  • Collaborate with project teams, construction personnel, management, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 for daily scheduling tasks, preparing engineering and procurement timelines for medium to large-scale projects. Regularly analyze and generate reports to aid in dispute resolution.
  • Plan operational sequences, establish baselines to determine lead times for each task, conduct labor forecasting, identify critical paths, and adjust schedules to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.
  • Detect scheduling conflicts and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Update schedules with actual progress, forecast remaining durations, project milestones, and completion timelines.
  • Develop and implement earned value management systems to accurately assess project progress and performance.
  • Conduct collaborative reviews with all stakeholders to ensure plans are realistic and achievable, integrating feedback into the Master Schedule.
  • Prepare schedule risk assessments to project contingencies for regular updates to project teams and management.
  • Translate change orders into sequential work schedules and perform scenario analyses to recommend feasible solutions.
  • Conduct delay analyses for claims and provide recommendations regarding time extension requests.
  • Generate and distribute schedule analysis reports, including corrective action recommendations for project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling quality standards, adhering to PMI and company guidelines.
  • Analyze specifications and perform calculations to determine production processes, tools, and human resource needs.
  • Prepare regular status updates for senior management and project managers.
  • Compile lists of necessary labor resources, materials, tools, and equipment, assisting in progress reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • University Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience.
  • At least 7 years in a Planning/Scheduling capacity supporting major projects utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible under deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Proficient in multitasking, managing time effectively, and setting priorities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with continuous interaction required with team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including proficiency in report writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Outlook; expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or MS Project is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Eligibility for CNL Reliability Status, requiring a minimum of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand, or Australia.
