About the Role

O/A Primo Construction is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and ensuring a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
    • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
    • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Preparation and Setup
    • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation.
    • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
    • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring.
  • Insulation and Safety
    • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
    • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, while maintaining a high level of safety and attention to detail.
  • Project Management
    • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation.
    • Utilize laser alignment systems to ensure precise measurements and installation.
    Requirements
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation.
    • Permanent employment with 35 hours per week.
    • Language of work: English.
