Job Summary (Primary function)
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as the field-based medical/scientific authority for the organization, concentrating on engagement with healthcare professionals to deliver balanced education regarding the appropriate utilization of Incyte's marketed products, comprehending the evolving therapeutic landscape, and facilitating research collaborations across the Incyte portfolio. Preferred locations include major urban centers.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

• Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships with key researchers, institutions, and groups vital to the safe and effective application of company products.

• Educates the medical community about Incyte's products and relevant disease areas.

• Enhances company visibility and fosters professional interactions with current and prospective oncology leaders.

• Identifies clinical research opportunities aligned with company objectives.

• Acts as the primary territory contact for investigator-initiated research programs, guiding the process from concept submission to publication.

• Communicates critical clinical and research insights from oncology leaders to influence company research and ensure the safe and appropriate use of Incyte's marketed products.

• Maintains a high level of clinical and scientific knowledge through continuous training and self-education, including participation in relevant conferences, scientific workshops, and reviewing key publications.

• Collects and shares competitive intelligence in a compliant manner.

• Collaborates with North America and Global Medical Affairs teams and seeks opportunities to mentor fellow MSL team members.

• Works proactively with the cross-functional Incyte Canada team, including Market Access and Commercial.

• Contributes substantively to and provides medical leadership for North America and Global Medical Affairs and Development initiatives.

• Responds to unsolicited requests for medical information, often in collaboration with Medical Information Services personnel.

• Completes accurate and timely reports, project plans, and required documentation requests.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

• An advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector is strongly preferred.

• Previous MSL or relevant experience is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in hematology/oncology is strongly preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of oncology is advantageous.

• Clinical research experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with applicable treatment, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation abilities.

• Capacity to think strategically and apply knowledge and analytical skills.

• Ability to summarize complex scientific information and present it clearly, concisely, confidently, and accurately to diverse audiences.

• Ability to network and collaborate with external stakeholders, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, research consortia, and practice networks.

• Thrives in a collaborative team environment and positively contributes to team culture.

• Demonstrates effective leadership skills and is prepared to address challenges within the scope of authority.

• Exhibits deep therapeutic knowledge; stays informed about trends and new information in the therapeutic/translational science area, as well as the profession at large.

• Domestic travel is required.

• Fluency in both French and English is required for roles in specific regions.
