Position Overview
The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading the service delivery and managing the daily operations of our supportive housing program. This position is essential in ensuring that older adults and seniors receive optimal care within the supportive housing facilities. The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between clients, healthcare providers, and community partners, facilitating assessments and intake processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive management of the service site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining the security of the premises.
- Empower clients by developing personalized programs that foster relationships through coaching and support, while advocating for their needs within the social services and healthcare systems.
- Provide guidance and support to staff involved in direct service delivery, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of daily client activities and issues, addressing staffing needs as they arise.
- Foster collaborative relationships among staff and act as a liaison between team members and residents.
- Ensure that health and safety standards are met in collaboration with housing providers.
- Engage in service planning processes, including preparing service and operating plans, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate client meetings and group activities that enhance resident well-being and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- A degree or diploma in healthcare, social services, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the mental health sector.
- Strong understanding of harm reduction and psychosocial rehabilitation principles, complemented by experience in community support services.
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by older adults and marginalized populations, including those with addictions and cognitive impairments.
- Experience in program development, planning, and evaluation.
- Ability to build therapeutic relationships and negotiate client goals effectively.
- Proficient in conducting meetings and facilitating group discussions, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for providing leadership and engaging clients.
- Advocacy skills and knowledge of local community resources, with the ability to establish effective partnerships.
- Competence in crisis intervention, problem-solving, and intake assessment.
- Proficient in computer applications for maintaining records and statistical data.
- A valid driver's license may be required.
- Availability for after-hours on-call duties on a rotating basis.
